Cruise Ctrl Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice (“Notice”) explains how Cruise Ctrl Inc. (“Cruise Ctrl,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Cruise Ctrl mobile application and related websites and online services (collectively, the “App” or “Online Services”).

Scope

This Notice applies to information collected by or on behalf of Cruise Ctrl through the App and Online Services where this Notice is posted or linked.

Links to Other Sites

The App may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Information We Collect

Account & Profile: username, email, optional name, location, car info, profile image, demographics you choose to provide.
Communications: your messages to us, support requests, and your marketing preferences.
Device & Usage: IP address, device identifiers, app version, log and diagnostic data, cookies/SDK events.
Location & Route Data (optional): GPS data, navigation and route recordings (if you enable them).
User Content: photos, comments, ratings, and other content you upload.
Inferences/Analytics: derived insights to improve features and safety.

How We Collect

Directly from you (account creation, forms, uploads).
Automatically via the App/Online Services (cookies, SDKs, analytics).
From service providers (e.g., crash reporting, analytics), and—if you enable it—map/navigation partners to deliver features.

How We Use Information

Provide, maintain, and improve the App and features (routes, events, social tools).
Personalize content and recommendations.
Communicate about updates, security, and account notices.
Send marketing communications only with your consent (e.g., SMS program below).
Prevent fraud and enforce policies; comply with law.
Research and development.

SMS/Text Messaging Program

If you opt in to receive text messages from Cruise Ctrl:

Program Description: drive alerts, event updates, and related messages from Cruise Ctrl.
Opt-In: You will only receive texts if you expressly opt in (e.g., submitting your number on our CTA form or replying “Y/YES”).
Opt-Out: You can opt out at any time by texting STOP. You will receive a one-time confirmation text.
Help: For help, text HELP or email cruisectrl@cruisectrlapp.com.
Frequency: Message frequency may vary.
Fees: Message and data rates may apply.
Carrier Disclaimer: Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Data Use for SMS: We use your mobile number and messaging activity (opt-in/opt-out status, delivery, and engagement events) to operate the program and comply with regulations.
No Sale/Sharing for SMS Marketing: We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing.
- Required language: “We will not share your mobile information with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. We will not share your consent to receive mobile messages with any third parties.”
- “All categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties."

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your Personal Information. We share only as described:

Service Providers/Processors: hosting, analytics, messaging/SMS delivery (including carriers and aggregators), customer support, security.
Legal/Compliance: to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights and safety.
Corporate Transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
Aggregated/De-identified Data: that cannot reasonably identify you.

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies/SDKs (e.g., for performance and analytics). You can manage cookie/permission settings in your device or browser. Some features may not function without certain cookies/permissions.

App Tracking Transparency

We do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising without consent. If that changes, we will request permission via Apple’s ATT prompt.

Data Retention

We keep Personal Information for as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. SMS opt-in/opt-out logs are retained as required for compliance.

Security

We implement reasonable safeguards (e.g., HTTPS/TLS, access controls). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your Choices & Rights

Update profile information in-app.
Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link; opt out of SMS by texting STOP.
Control device permissions (location, camera, photos).
Depending on your location (e.g., California/EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, delete, correct, or restrict processing. Submit requests at cruisectrl@cruisectrlapp.com.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from them.

International Users

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We use appropriate safeguards where required.

Changes to This Notice

We may update this Notice. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (e.g., in-app, email) and update the “Effective Date.”
